Forge Press

forge branding - v2

During my time at the University of Sheffield I was heavily involved in the student newspaper – Forge Press.

In my final year of study I was the Editor of the entire publication and during my second year at the establishment I was the News Editor. The newspaper is a fortnightly 48-60 page independent publication and is produced by a core team of 30 editors and many more contributors.

The newspaper campaigned for students’ rights, successfully winning refunds for students against the university, as well as exposing illegal vodka sales and covering issues that mattered to the readership.

During the period of my editorship the student media group won NUS student media of the year (2012). And as a result of my work as News Editor I was the runner up NUS student journalist of the year (2011).

Below are some of the issues of the newspaper when I was the editor and also personal articles produced.
